On April 15, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology of Cần Thơ City convened a council to select organizations and individuals to carry out the city-level scientific and technological mission: “Building a roadmap for technology innovation and priority development for Cần Thơ City in the period 2026–2031, with a vision to 2045.” The project is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thái Nghe, with Cần Thơ University as the host institution.
    Developing a Socio-Economic Analysis and Monitoring Toolkit for Can Tho City Governance
    On the afternoon of April 15, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City convened a council to select organizations and individuals to carry out the city-level science and technology project titled “Developing a Socio-Economic Analysis and Monitoring Toolkit for Can Tho City Governance.” The project is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Danh, with Can Tho University as the implementing institution.
    Support cooperatives to accelerate digital transformation
    In the context of strong digital transformation, Can Tho City Cooperative Alliance has coordinated with relevant sectors to implement many programs to support cooperatives in applying technology to production and business activities.
    Building AI human resources
    Ho Chi Minh City is actively promoting digital transformation and applying artificial intelligence (AI) to build a smart city. However, the city's AI human resources are still limited in quantity and quality, with only about 1,000 graduates from 14 related training programs.

    The implementation of Hanoi's Public Administration Service Center aims to transform the management model to non-administrative boundaries by establishing branches in large districts.

    Thai Nguyen province has implemented a program to develop science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, notably the plan "Popular AI learning" for the period of 2024-2025, issued on December 13, 2024.

    Switching to digital banking not only helps reduce operating costs and eliminate costly physical branches, but also expands access to customers everywhere, especially young customers using online and mobile services. This becomes even more necessary as traditional banks gradually lose their appeal and competitiveness in the market.

    Many policies support innovative startups
    In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Center will operate the online platform (H.O.I.P), focusing on the ecosystem's data system for businesses, startups to register and participate in the city's support policies.
