Nghiên cứu sử dụng thực vật để phục hồi đất sau khai thác quặng sắt tại Thái Nguyên

Khi khai thác quặng sắt cũng như các loại quặng khác, vấn đề cải tạo phục hồi môi trường sau khai thác và đảm bảo chất lượng môi trường xung quanh trong quá trình khai thác là yêu cầu cấp bách hiện nay. Cho đến nay có khá nhiều giải pháp để phục hồi đất sau khai khoáng như biện pháp công trình, biện pháp hóa học,…nhưng biện pháp sinh học vẫn có hiệu quả kinh tế nhất vì đầu tư chi phí thấp và thân thiện với môi trường. Vì vậy, phương pháp sử dụng thực vật vừa xử lý được ô nhiễm kim loại nặng, vừa phục hồi được độ phì đất sau khai thác khoáng sản là nội dung nghiên cứu để tìm ra giải pháp hiệu quả hiện nay.

Nghiên cứu tập trung vào đánh giá khả năng phục hồi đất và xử lý đất bị ô nhiễm của một số loại cây phủ đất ở vùng mỏ sắt Trại Cau; đánh giá khả năng phục hồi độ phì đất của cây keo tai tượng trên đât sau khai thác mỏ sắt Trại Cau. Nhằm đưa ra giải pháp phục hồi độ phì đất sau khai khoáng, một thí nghiệm với 4 loại cây phủ đất là: Đơn buốt, ngải dại, mần trầu và dương xỉ đã được tiến hành từ 7/2017 đến 7/2019 trên đất vừa hoàn thổ tại mỏ sắt Trại Cau, Thái Nguyên.

Kết quả cho thấy cả 4 cây đều có khả năng sinh trưởng và phát triển tốt, cho khối lượng thân lá cao nên che phủ đất tốt và có khả năng hút thu kim loại nặng trong đất tốt. Cả 4 loại cây đều có khả năng phục hồi độ phì đất tốt sau 2 năm trồng. Đánh giá mô hình cây keo tai tượng cho thấy trên đất sau khai khoáng cây có tính thích ứng rộng và khả năng sinh trưởng nhanh, nên ngoài khả năng che phủ đất dốc nhanh còn cho sinh khối lớn trên đơn vị diện tích. Cây keo tai tượng được trồng sau 2, 5 và 8 năm đã có tác dụng rất tích cực để phục hồi độ phì đất ở cả 2 tầng đất của vùng khai thác quặng sắt Trại Cau. Đây là hướng phục hồi đất sau khai thác quặng sắt hiệu quả và bền vững.
