Minister of Science and Technology visited and worked in Can Tho
In the afternoon of April 28, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and his delegation visited and worked with the Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology. On the side of Can Tho city, there was Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee.

The Minister of Science and Technology gave a directing speech at the meeting

Mr. Ngo Anh Tin- Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology reported briefly the situation of S&T activities in the first 4 months of the year and the work plan for the last 8 months of the year. In particular, the Department of Science and Technology has advised the Can Tho City People's Committee to issue a Decision on Promulgating the List of Key Technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, prioritizing the allocation of resources for research, development and application of technology in Can Tho city; Promulgating the Implementation Plan of Decision No. 100/QD-TTg, the Project for Deployment, Application and Management of the Traceability System in Can Tho City in the period of 2021-2030 and the Action Plan for Implementation of the third breakthrough stage in the Resolution of the Can Tho City Party Congress for the term of 2020-2025.

In addition, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Department of Science and Technology has been approved by the City People's Committee 5 investment projects to develop material and technical facilities for science and technology organizations, contributing to improving the capacity of science and technology information activities, strongly develop standard technical services for quality measurement, accelerate the application of science and technology advances; expanding business incubation fields and industries at the Vietnam-Korea Industrial Technology Incubator (KVIP).

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee highly appreciated the achievements of the city's science and technology industry, a united collective, completing the work contents that Party Committee - People's Council - City People's Committee assigned; Intellectual property work in the area is promoted quickly to support operations for businesses.

The city's vice president also proposed to the Ministry of Science and Technology to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Can Tho City in 2021 and assign the Department of Science and Technology to act as the focal point to coordinate the implementation of specific activities with the Ministries and departments as soon as possible.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Minister of Science and Technology highly appreciated the achievements of the city's science and technology industry in recent years and highly agreed with the proposal to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Can Tho city next time; acknowledge the opinions and suggestions of the delegates and direct the units under the Ministry to pay attention and resolve.

As for the construction of the Technology Exchange in Can Tho, the head of the Ministry of Science and Technology said that the implementation of the project is very necessary to contribute to promoting and developing the technology market of the Mekong Delta as well as the whole country. Can Tho city needs to implement the project fully and completely and the Ministry of Science and Technology will pay attention and support so that the Exchange can go into operation soon.

The Minister also emphasized the role and position of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region and hoped that the locality would continue to promote its strengths to connect and develop science and technology with other provinces and cities in the region.
