Online seminar with leaders of Departments of Science and Technology

On July 2, 2021, the Ministry of Science and Technology held an online seminar with leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology of 63 nationwide provinces and cities to comment on documents on construction and planning network of public science and technology organizations in the provinces and under central cities. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. On the side of the bridge in Can Tho City, there was Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology and units under the Department.

At the seminar, delegates listened, discussed issues related to public science and technology organizations, gave comments on the draft document on building and planning a network of science and technology organizations in the provinces and under central cities in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, requested provinces and cities to urgently investigate and review public science and technology organizations in the area; build and plan the network of organizations to serve as a basis for generalization and construction of the national network. At the same time, pay attention to and create conditions for science and technology organizations to operate effectively and make positive contributions to the development of the country.

In Can Tho City, there are 2 public science and technology organizations under the Department of Science and Technology, the Center for Science and Technology Information and the Center for Application of Science and Technology Advancement. These units all operate regularly and provide the city's science and technology services.
