Vietnam - Australia AI was launched to serve as a premise to build a sustainable cooperation community on Artificial Intelligence in Vietnam, as well as internationally in the future.

Launching this network, the Ministry of Science and Technology and its partners call for all individuals and organizations operating in AI in Vietnam to register to participate.

The network brings together two subjects: individuals and businesses, organizations operating in the field of Artificial Intelligence and industries directly related to Artificial Intelligence. The goal of the network is in 2021 to attract at least 100 businesses and 1,000 individuals to register and live at facebook.com/groups/mangluoiai. All participants in the network make an important contribution to the development of AI in Vietnam, the network does not prioritize a specific audience.

Initially, the network will create opportunities for members to cooperate with Australian partners and update the situation of AI in Vietnam, Australia and the world. After that, the network will expand cooperation to many other countries and aim to build a sustainable AI community with many computer science development activities in our country.

Speaking about the network's launch event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy said: "The Vietnam - Australia Artificial Intelligence (Vietnam - Australia AI) cooperation network is a premise for a community to develop sustainable cooperation on artificial intelligence in Vietnam, as well as internationally in the future. We look forward to learning from Australia as well as other countries to create a favorable environment for AI development in Vietnam, realizing the goal set out in the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence - bringing Vietnam to the top 4 ASEAN and 50 leading countries in the world in research, development and application of Artificial Intelligence by 2030.”

The network will be managed by the Department of High Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, and built a management software and an online community space for members to participate in periodic activities, share, contribute and develop Artificial Intelligence industry in Vietnam.

Mr. Tom Wood, Program Director of Aus4Innovation said, Aus4Innovation has a comprehensive plan to support the development of Artificial Intelligence in Vietnam, this network is one of those activities. The Covid-19 pandemic forces us to change the way we work and plan for the future. “We believe that Artificial Intelligence will play an essential role in accelerating digital transformation, helping Vietnam's economy better adapt to changes and become more efficient, in the future not far away," said Mr. Tom Wood.

In addition to the formation of the network - creating a premise to build a community, the Promotion Program also features a series of 5 seminars on different topics around Artificial Intelligence and many other activities.
