City leaders checked the testing of SARS-CoV-2 at the Center for Advanced Application of Science and Technology
In the morning of September 14, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, visited the Center for Advanced Application of Science and Technology (under Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology) and inspected the work SARS-CoV-2 virus testing of the Center.

Can Tho City Center for Application of Science and Technology Advancement has been granted a Certificate of Competency by the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute to confirm the SARS-CoV-2 virus by RT-PCR (PCR test). The Center's PCR test is carried out in collaboration with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and performed at the Center's laboratory.

Accordingly, from September 12, 2021, the Center began to carry out confirmed tests for SARS-CoV-2 for samples transferred by the Center for Disease Control of Can Tho City. These are samples taken from people in the city's community testing campaign. The center currently has 3 machines, each batch runs 180 samples/machine in 2.5 hours. The Center's confirmed testing capacity for SARS-CoV-2 is 1,000 samples/day, equivalent to 10,000 aggregate samples. The center also runs samples for organizations and enterprises for PCR testing (at the price set by the Ministry of Health's regulations).

Mr. Duong Tan Hien highly appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of the Center staff, who actively cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy to carry out PCR testing, contributing to the PCR test. The same city soon discovered F0 for isolation and treatment. City leaders suggested the Center continue to promote and increase testing capacity, from the current 2 cases, it can be raised to 3 cases to increase the number of daily test samples.
