With the hot and rapid development of technology, any information system will face the risk of cyber attacks. Early detection and timely remediation of security vulnerabilities of applications and systems will help reduce risks and damages to that system.

Therefore, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially launched a campaign to find security holes for technology platforms for epidemic prevention and control with the hope that security experts will continue to join hands in finding security holes for digital platforms of support for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The campaign was launched with the hope that products to support epidemic prevention (such as national PC-Covid, electronic health book) are guaranteed the best information security; At the same time, they will be aware of new risks that always appear and may happen to the technology platforms of the National Center for Technology for COVID-19 Prevention and Control (under the Ministry of Information and Communications) which are being deployed urgently, to serve the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.

Previously, the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) cooperated with VNSecurity to create the BugRank platform. BugRank is an open source and non-profit Bug bounty platform developed by VNSecurity Foundation. Organizations and businesses can put their program up and it will be evaluated and tested by Researchers (researchers, security experts) around the world.

After more than a month of operation, experts have sent back 81 reports, of which 44 errors have been recorded, especially 16 errors are rated as serious. Also according to information on the BugRank website, the amount of prize money awarded in the past time is 48 million VND. The reward for errors is recorded from 1-3 million VND.

National PC-Covid is considered a unified application, serving the purpose of COVID-19 epidemic prevention across the country. This app was released on 9/30. On the first day of release, there were 1.7 million system queries that made the app unstable.

On October 1, the Center released version 4.0.2 of the national PC-Covid with some changes in the interface, some added features and improved performance. The technical team continues to improve performance in the next versions. Many users reflect that the data in the national PC-Covid is out of sync or incorrect. This week, the application will update the feature to reflect incorrect information from users to handle and adjust.
