Techfest Vietnam 2021: A new look
Hold in the context of the pandemic, Techfest - the nation's largest startup festival this year, is no longer a bustling space of workshops, talks and meetings, but has shifted to a completely online space. This is an opportunity for Techfest to take place in a completely new way with a larger scale, longer duration and more special goals.

Another Techfest

Indeed, this year, for the seventh time, Techfest has changed. Instead of being held centrally within a week like 2018 or 2019 or a month like 2020, this year, Techfest played big when it lasted three months, from July 26 to October 7. Perhaps the Techfest Organization Board must have a lot of plans to "show" to the startup community and attract them in a special way. An event lasting three months but still having to ensure the attention of the community is not an easy problem to solve for even the most professional event organizers. Therefore, Mr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the Department of Market Development and S&T Enterprises - the organization that organizes the annual Techfest, said: "Not only young people, Techfest organization Board are also starting up".

What's new for this year's Techfest? Those are activities throughout with nearly 70 large and small events of 16 technology villages, including the birth of many new technology villages catching up with socio-economic trends and requirements, such as Space Safety Village. Network, Social Innovation and Challenge Village, Media and Entertainment Technology Village, Logistics Technology Village; Technology Platforms and Infrastructure Village, Invention Village and Innovation Enterprise; Smart City Technology Village and Real Estate Technology.

In 2021, the topic chosen by Techfest is "Innovation - Creating the Future". If last year was the time to "adapt, transform and break through", this year, being innovative with the opportunities and challenges that the pandemic brings is a must.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung hopes "start-up ideas are interested in, participating in solving socio-economic problems: please participate, propose and find ways to solve problems to help society in the condition of having to live with the epidemic.”

Mr. Pham Dung Nam - Director of Project 844 Office mentioned the phrase "cooperation" as one of the three keywords of the innovation ecosystem. Mr. Nam believes that this is the period of sharing, public-private, public-public cooperation and cooperation between large and small enterprises: “Only when linked together, forming value chains, chain link, create value for each other, then we develop together.
