Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for a large proportion in the enterprise structure of the economy and tend to increase strongly. In Vietnam, SMEs account for over 95% of the total number of enterprises. SMEs play an important role in stabilizing and promoting economic growth, providing the market with a variety of goods in all fields, creating many choices to meet the needs of consumers, promoting consumption in the economy.
According to information from the Department of Technology Application and Development (Ministry of Science and Technology), small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in creating many jobs, connecting with large enterprises to create development support networks for most professions. In order to promote the development of SMEs, it is very important to support the training and fostering of human resources. Support in training and fostering human resources helps enterprises improve the efficiency of production and business activities, increase competitiveness and develop sustainably in the market.
In the recent years, together with other units of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Center for Design, Manufacturing and Testing under the Department of Technology Application and Development has had many consulting, innovation/technological process improvement activities for SMEs, and at the same time combined with training in the "hands-on" form to improve the quality of human resources to help the workforce understand and apply technologies/equipment management methods, reducing costs in production.
