Deputy Minister of Science and Technology: Standardization will continue to grow
That was the statement of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh at the 51th Anniversary of World Standards Day on October 14 held at the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality through online form.

According to Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh, international standards bring many benefits in terms of technology, economy and society. For businesses, international standards are strategic tools and guidelines that help companies address the most demanding challenges of modern business and ensure efficient operations, increased productivity, access to new markets. For consumers, when products and services comply with international standards, they can be confident that products and services are safe, reliable and good quality, many of which are environmentally friendly.

International standards also support regulatory agencies in developing public policies and national regulations, ensuring requirements for harmonized import and export worldwide, thereby facilitating the movement of goods and services among countries."

As a full member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Committee for Food Standards (CODEX) and an associate member of the International Electrical Engineering  Committee (IEC), Vietnam has the right and responsibility to actively participate in the process of developing international standards so that Vietnamese products and goods can reach out to the world market more strongly. At the same time, we also need to promote the development and application of national and international standards as the foundation for production and business activities and protect the legitimate interests of businesses, as well as Vietnamese consumers.

According to Deputy Minister Dinh, in addition to participating in joint activities according to the responsibilities of members, we have been making positive contributions to the development of international standards, especially those related to Vietnam's key products.

According to Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh, the topic of this year's World Standards Day is "Standards for Sustainable Development Goals - A Common Vision for a Better World", once again emphasizing Standards play an important role in providing effective tools for achieving the sustainable development goals. They are global, universal goals designed to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that everyone enjoys peace and prosperity by 2030 in each member state of United Nations, including Vietnam.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh also welcomed the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality, Vietnam Institute of Standards and Quality for celebrating 51 years of the world Standards Day to raise awareness of organizations, individuals, businesses and people about the importance of standards in contributing to the success of the Sustainable Development Goals.
