On October 20, at the Vietnam Institute of Irrigation Science, the Executive Board of the Program "Scientific and technological research in service of environmental protection and disaster prevention" code KC.08/16-20, organized Conference to evaluate and summarize 5 years. The event took place in the form of live and online with 84 bridge points across the country.

Reporting at the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Viet, Program Manager, said that this is a national science and technology program for environmental protection and disaster prevention with the scope of research and application across the country with very high inter-regionality.

During the implementation process, the Program has selected and implemented 36 projects, 2 pilot production projects. Of which, there are 23 tasks related to disaster prevention, accounting for 61% and 15 tasks in the field of environment, accounting for 39%.

The project under the Program are conducted on the basis of documents and data... provided by agencies with legal status, and are inspected and tested in laboratories and inspection centers with qualified personnel. prestige, in case of lack of conditions many test samples, samples have been sent abroad for implementation. This can confirm the reliability of the input data of the study - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Viet emphasized.

The products and projects created are supported by modern and advanced computer software and programs, many projects are studied on physical models, real models with a ratio of 1:1. . Most of the projects have professional exchange, learning experiences with international research organizations.

So far, the Program has basically completed the targets, goals and expected products. Most of the projects have been concentrated into clusters and groups of problems to solve the most urgent requirements of reality.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Viet, after 5 years, the Program has 20 products registered for protection of intellectual property rights, 45 technology solutions, many software and maps have been put into application. There are 8 commercial products and 18 strains of microorganisms in the process of application.
