Social Innovation and Challenge Village first appeared at Techfest Vietnam 2021
With the slogan "Unity Cooperation - Creating Trends - Leading Change for a Sustainable Vietnam", the Social Innovation and Challenge Village was first launched within the framework of Techfest 2021.

The village is led and coordinated by the Research Institute for Sustainable Development Management (MSD)/United Way Vietnam, National Economics University, United Way Worldwide, in collaboration with the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals, Global Network of Women Leaders and partners: University of Economics and Business Administration - Thai Nguyen University, Mevi Sustainable Agriculture Ecosystem. The village receives financial and technical support from Shinhan Square Bridge and the 844 Program on Supporting the National Innovation Startup Ecosystem until 2025.

The village was established with the goal of mobilizing and promoting the joint efforts of many stakeholders, such as investors, government agencies, embassies, national and international NGOs, communities, media, other development actors with the participation of businesses and start-ups to identify challenges, seek opportunities and create change. The Social Innovation and Challenge Village is expected to connect the “group of people affected by challenges” with “solution makers” in harmony in promoting innovation to comprehensively solve socio-economic problems.

The main activities of the Village include: Idea incubation program, innovative social startup projects, Future Social Innovation Solutions Contest, product display activities to connect the market, Social Investor Forum, Startup Forum led by Women - Youth, etc. In addition, the Village also introduced the Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam model - a model that has been and is being applied effectively in Vietnam to promote the social innovation startup ecosystem.

One of the key activities the Village has been implementing is the Social Creative Startup Talent Incubation Program. This is a program implemented to encourage young people, start-up groups as well as start-ups to discover social challenges in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and find creative ideas and solutions to solve challenges, while promoting startups in the field of social creativity.

Participating in the Social Creative Startup Talent Incubation Program, start-up groups/enterprises will have the opportunity to go through rounds of friction to activate and develop innovative social ideas, training rounds, and training sessions. In-depth training from building and perfecting business models to skills in market connection, investment connection and hands-on experiences of investment connection, have the opportunity to call investment capital from investors domestically and internationally. The best projects will receive the Village Award and have the opportunity to go on to the National and International Accelerator Programs. The projects will be accompanied by a Mentors team of leading domestic and foreign experts of the national and international startup ecosystem.
