Selection council of organizations and individuals implement the project: "Study on the rate of restenosis, lesion characteristics, risk factors after percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents in patients with coronary artery disease in Can Tho city"
In the afternoon of January 11, 2021, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology established a Science and Technology Council to select organizations and individuals to implement a project: "Research on the recurrence rate, injury characteristics, and risk factors after percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents in coronary artery disease patients in Can Tho City.” The study is carried out by Specialist Doctor 2 Vo Viet Thang and Specialist Doctor 2 Tran Quoc Luan. Can Tho City General Hospital is the agency in charge of the project. The expected implementation time is 24 months.

The content of the study included: Determining the rate of restenosis, characteristics of structural lesions and the degree of re-stenosis of the coronary arteries in and around the stent at 24 ± 2 months after drug stenting intervention in patients without myocardial infarction; To determine the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and interventional specifications with the incidence of intra- and peri-stent stenosis in patients without myocardial infarction.

The implemented project will provide a comprehensive database on the rate of restenosis after coronary stenting as well as the risk factors for restenosis, providing an important reference source for other research projects at medical and pharmaceutical schools across the country. As a premise for the implementation of higher techniques in the treatment and care of people's health in Can Tho city as well as in the Mekong Delta region.

The Council has approved the project, but the research team needs to edit and supplement some contents according to the comments of the council members.
