Can Tho City People's Committee welcomed and worked with Korea Institute of Advanced Technology
In the morning of April 19, 2022, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee had a meeting and worked with the Korea Institute of Advanced Technology (KIAT). Attending the meeting, there were Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology.

The objective of the meeting was to find out the status of using machinery and equipment for two projects of Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technology Incubator (Incubator) and the project of Vietnam - Korea Agricultural Machinery Center located at the Incubator.

The Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technology Incubator under the Department of Science and Technology was inaugurated and put into operation in 2016 with a total budget of about 17.7 million USD, of which investment in machinery and equipment was about 2.1 million USD, focusing on 3 fields: agricultural product processing, seafood processing and mechanical engineering.

Vietnam Agricultural Mechanization Support Project in Can Tho City is a non-refundable ODA project of the Korean Government supporting implementation in Can Tho City with a total investment of nearly 2.1 million USD. The project's implementation items include investing in 94 tractors with different capacities, building a workshop to repair agricultural machines and organizing human resource training to use agricultural machines.

So far, the project has put into use 83/94 tractors and tilling equipment for 23 cooperatives in Can Tho City, contributing to achieve 100% mechanization in the stage of land preparation for rice cultivation in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc He thanked and highly appreciated the investment interest of the Korean Government in Can Tho City in the past time, Can Tho City People's Committee will further promote the potential of the Vietnam - Korea Incubator and Agricultural Machinery Center in the coming time; and proposed that the Korean Government continue to support and invite Korean businesses to invest in Can Tho City.
