Appraisal of content and fund of S&T project "Research on reuse of ash and slag from household solid waste incinerators as raw materials for the production of building materials"
In the afternoon of May 13, 2022, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology established the Science and Technology Council to appraise the content and funding for the implementation of the Science and Technology Project: "Research on reuse of ash and slag from household solid waste incinerators as raw materials for the production of building materials." Council led by Dr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of Department of Science and Technology as Chairman. The study is carried out by Dr. Huynh Trong Phuoc. Can Tho University is project presiding unit.

The study is conducted with the aim of reusing the ash and slag from the household solid waste incinerator for the production of concrete bricks (self-inserting concrete bricks or terazo bricks).

The project will carry out the following contents: An overview study on bottom slag from household solid waste incinerators as raw materials for the production of building materials; Research on the technological process for the production of aggregate concrete bricks and slag incinerators for household solid wastes; Trial production and development of technical indicators for the production of concrete bricks using slag bottom of household solid waste incinerators; Construction of trial paving of concrete bricks manufactured using slag bottom of household solid waste incinerators.

The implemented project will take advantage of the source of ash and slag waste from the household solid waste incineration plant into the production of concrete bricks, well applied in real life, contributing to improving the efficiency of environmental treatment, limit the use of raw materials of natural origin and bring economic efficiency; Limiting the problems of environmental pollution through the reuse of wastes in mixing concrete bricks, associated with environmental protection and sustainable development. Contribute to supplement and improve knowledge about the importance of green building products; Producing concrete bricks of good quality, sustainability and good application in construction activities (paving sidewalks, paving paths, gardens, ...).
