Building DNA barcode of Ha Chau strawberry trees of Can Tho city
In the morning of May 27, 2022, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology established a Mid-term Evaluation Council of the project "Building DNA barcode of Ha Chau strawberry trees of Can Tho city". The Council was chaired by Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology. The study is carried out by MSc. Doan Thi Hong Quyen. Can Tho City Advanced Application of Science and Technology Center is a presiding agency.

The purpose of the study is to sequence and analyze the typical DNA barcode region of Ha Chau strawberry trees in Can Tho city.

The contents of the project include: Surveying and collecting leaf samples from Ha Chau top strawberry trees in Phong Dien, Can Tho city and other types of berries; DNA extraction; Isolate the barcoded DNA region; Sequencing the isolated DNA barcode Region; Analysis of specific DNA sequences of Ha Chau strawberry compared with other types of berries. Design of molecular markers that amplify the specific position of Ha Chau strawberry; Registration of DNA barcode sequences of Ha Chau strawberry.

Council's members

Over the implementation period, the contents of the project have been implemented according to the set schedule. The products are achieved in accordance with the quality and quantity requirements as in the description.

It is expected that the remaining contents need to be implemented in the near future: Analysis of the specific DNA sequence of Ha Chau strawberry compared with other types of berries. Design of molecular markers that amplify the specific position of Ha Chau strawberry; Registration of DNA barcode sequences of Ha Chau strawberry.

The council highly appreciated the mid-term results of the project, implemented it on schedule and agreed for the project to continue implementing the remaining phase.
