Propagating and disseminating legal knowledge on intellectual property rights at higher education institutions and colleges
In the morning of June 9, 2022, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology established a scientist team to appraise the content and funding to carry out the task of "Propaganda and dissemination of legal knowledge on intellectual property rights in at institutions of higher education and colleges” under the Can Tho City Intellectual Property Development Program. The appraisal team is led by Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City. MSc. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tuyen is in charge of the task. Can Tho University is the agency in charge of implementing the task.

Overwiew of the meeting

The research is carried out with the aim of improving the awareness and professional skills on intellectual property of lecturers and students at higher education institutions and colleges; Support to register for protection of intellectual property (inventions, utility solutions, trademarks, industrial designs, copyrights) at higher education institutions and colleges.

Appraisal team 

Research contents include: Survey on access to intellectual property rights at higher education institutions, colleges; Organize training to disseminate knowledge and current status of intellectual property for managers, lecturers and students at universities and colleges in Can Tho city; Organizing seminars on intellectual property at universities and colleges in Can Tho city; Organizing direct and online contests "students with intellectual property rights"; Support universities and colleges in Can Tho city to apply for certification of intellectual property rights protection titles.

The research team

The research has practical significance, contributing to creating more attention of higher education institutions and colleges about the legal consciousness in protecting the intellectual property rights of lecturers and students; Raise the legal awareness on the protection of intellectual property rights of lecturers and students; Develop reasonable solutions for quick and timely response of higher education institutions, colleges when detecting acts of infringement of intellectual property rights or solving difficulties in exploiting and transferring scientific research results; Support universities and colleges to boost the number of applications for protection of intellectual property rights in the coming time. At the same time, effectively exploiting scientific research products as well as other intellectual properties.

The appraisal team has approved the content and level of funding for performing the task in accordance with the State's regulations. However, the research team need to adjust some contents according to the comments of the members of the appraisal team.
