Scientific conference "Science, technology and innovation promote digital transformation in agriculture"
In the morning of June 24, 2022, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology cooperated with the Propaganda Department of Can Tho City Party Committee to organize a scientific eonference "Science, technology and innovation promote digital transformation in the agricultural sector", at the TTC Can Tho hotel hall in order to helping farmers to produce more efficiently, create products of higher value, thereby creating an environment and an agricultural digital ecosystem as the foundation, creating institutions, promoting the transition from "Manufacturing agriculture" to "Agricultural economy"; develop hi-tech agriculture in the direction of focusing on smart agriculture and precision agriculture, increasing the proportion of digital agriculture in the economy.

Attending the conference, there were representatives of leaders of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, leaders of Department of Science and Technology, Propaganda Department, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, institutes, schools, enterprises and students in the city. The number of delegates attending was 550 delegates, of which the participants directly attended were 250 delegates; Online participants are 300 delegates.

Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc He spoke at the conference, in order to build and develop Can Tho city by 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Central Government has issued Resolution No. 59-NQ /TW dated August 5, 2020 and Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW dated April 2, 2022, focusing on developing the agricultural industry in the direction of increasing agricultural value, applying high technology and adapting with climate change. Accordingly, the People's Committee of Can Tho city has also issued many programs and plans on digital transformation in agriculture, typically Plan No. 98/KH-UBND, dated May 6, 2022 on the application of digital transformation in agriculture, information technology to digitalize agriculture in the period of 2022-2025, in which to promote the application of achievements of the fourth industrial revolution to agricultural economic activities and rural development; applying information technology to the management of agricultural production areas, supporting traceability and linking product consumption, promoting the development of the digital economy in agriculture.

Mrs. Tran Hong Tham - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Education Department of Can Tho City Party Committee concluded at the conference before new opportunities, the city needs to "effectively take advantage of opportunities created by the Fourth Industrial Revolution to promote the process of renewing the growth model, restructuring the economy in association with implementing strategic breakthroughs and modernizing the country, strongly developing the digital economy", with experiences, the above-mentioned practice of digital agriculture development in Can Tho and the synchronization of the viewpoint “Strengthening coordination and development of big data systems for production and product traceability; building an integrated aerial and ground observation and monitoring network for agricultural activities; forecast and warn about the environment, weather, quality of land and water sources in order to improve the efficiency of agricultural production; supporting the sharing of agricultural equipment through digital platforms" as stated in Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU dated August 4, 2021 of the Can Tho City Party Committee "on digital transformation of Can Tho city by 2025 and orientation up to 2030” proposed in agricultural development associated with the application of digital transformation will contribute to the sustainable development of Can Tho agriculture.

Creativity is applied to the digital transformation process in the agricultural sector, creating a bridge to promote the development of high-tech agriculture. At the same time, strengthen the connection among managers, scientists, researchers, businesses and organizations supporting businesses in the digital transformation process in the agricultural sector.

The conference took place in two forms (directly at the main bridge point is TTC Can Tho Hotel Hall and online through 2D, 3D, Zoom meeting technology platforms) with the main contents: Theoretical basis of science, technology and innovation promote digital transformation in the agricultural sector; science, technology and innovation development practices to promote digital transformation in the agricultural sector; solutions, recommendations develop science, technology and innovation to promote digital transformation in the field of agriculture and typical technological solutions, equipment and models for digital transformation in the agricultural sector.

The conference is an event that combines a live conference and online display of technological solutions, equipment, scientific and technological products applied in digital transformation in the field of agriculture displayed online on the exhibition channel Khoahoccantho.vn through videos, information, images identified by Qr-codes.
