Affirm the An Giang rice brand by ensuring the system of standards

In the general context, rice exports are influenced by the movements of many countries, many import control policies, and many potential risks. Face with the above scenario, if An Giang rice export industry wants to maintain and develop, it must cultivate, produce, process and supply to the market safe, quality and branded rice products.

It is known that An Giang is one of 13 provinces in the Mekong River Delta with the second largest rice production in the country (after Kien Giang province) annually reaching nearly 4 million tons, annual export reaching from 500,000 to 550,000 tons of rice, bringing in over 250 million USD in foreign currency, contributing to socio-economic development and becoming one of the four key export industries of the province.

The province currently has 23 enterprises licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be eligible for rice export business. Companies also step by step modernize production lines and technology to meet the standardization requirements of international economic integration.

The total capacity of 23 enterprises in the province has a capacity of 522,800 tons of rice and 551,594 tons of rice. The milling capacity is 628 tons of paddy/hour and the milling capacity is 776 tons of rice/hour and there are a total of 42 factories and warehouses in the province.

In addition, An Giang has 16 enterprises outside the province with a total capacity of 138,125 tons of rice and 198,024 tons of rice. The milling capacity reached 261 tons of rice/hour and the milling capacity reached 342 tons of rice/hour and there were a total of 20 factories and warehouses in the province.

However, for the An Giang rice brand, the systematization and standardization of the quality of processed rice products is extremely important and necessary.

In order to overcome that difficulty, An Giang province sets out the goal of building a rice processing process that ensures both domestic and international quality standards (from factories, technology, machinery systems, equipment, etc.) equipment, quality management system to product standards, packaging.

Currently, rice export businesses in An Giang province all meet the national technical regulations on machinery and equipment, and the processing lines of enterprises are invested quite synchronously, including: equipment of processing stages such as, drying equipment, peeling machine, polishing machine, color sorter, stone separation floor, metal detector, electronic scale, storage system and etc. Quality management system applied quality such as, HACCP, ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 22000: 2005, BRC, GMP.
