The Ministry of Science and Technology identifies artificial intelligence as a top priority technology
In the coming time, the Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to implement the strategy by focusing on developing high-quality human resources in artificial intelligence in Vietnam, as well as building big data infrastructure as directed government.

Responding to a press interview at the press conference to introduce the event of the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Festival 2022, which has just taken place, Mr. Ly Hoang Tung, Deputy Director of the High Technology Department (Ministry of Science and Technology), said that during the time, In the past, the Government has directed ministries and sectors to prepare a legal corridor as well as conditions for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Vietnam.

At the end of 2020, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2117/QD-TTg promulgating a list of prioritized technologies for research, development and application to actively participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the field of digital technology, the priority list of technologies includes: Artificial Intelligence; Internet of Things; big data analysis technology; blockchain technology; cloud computing…

The Ministry of Science and Technology identified AI as the top priority technology. In January 2021, the Ministry of Science and Technology advised the Government to issue the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence until 2030. The construction of data and human resources was assigned by the Government to the Ministries: National Defense, Public Security, Education and Training, Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology... are ready to meet the actual development needs.

For its part, right after the Strategy was promulgated, the Ministry of Science and Technology immediately issued a plan to deploy the development of national AI technology. Up to now, the promotion and communication of AI has been widely deployed, partly helping people understand what AI is and how it contributes in life.

Artificial Intelligence Vietnam Day 2022 (AI4VN) is an annual event, held for the first time in 2018. After four years, AI4VN has become a reliable scientific event, attracting the attention of many policy-promulgating agencies, management agencies, technology corporations, research units ... join hands to promote the development of artificial intelligence ecosystem in Vietnam. AI4VN 2022 is scheduled to be held on September 22 in Hanoi.
