Vietnam will preside 2 to 3 international standard construction projects
In the draft "Strategy of Standardization to 2030", Vietnam has set a target to preside 2 to 3 international standard construction projects.

On August 19, 2022, in Ho Chi Minh City, Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality presided to organize a program of scientific workshop to comment on the draft "National Standardization Strategy to  2030 and the Master Plan to develop the system of national standards to 2030” with the participation of more than 100 guests from state management agencies, businesses, universities.

Accordingly, the "Strategy of Standardization to 2030" is implemented with the view that standardization becomes an important driving force, leading and promoting the development of national quality infrastructure. Focus on perfecting institutions and legal policies on standards, creating a legal corridor to ensure standardization activities in Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Dr. Ha Minh Hiep - Deputy Director in charge of the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality said that Vietnam is deeply integrating into the world economy since becoming a member of WTO, ASEAN, APEC, and the World Trade Organization. Especially in the past time, Vietnam has signed new generation free trade agreements, such as CPTPP, EVFTA, RCEP leading to the implementation of these agreements, as well as production, business and export of goods, services are increasingly facing regulations, strict requirements on standards and technical regulations in foreign markets.

Speaking at the end of the workshop program, Dr. Ha Minh Hiep acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the delegates. Along with that, Dr. Hiep also assigned the Department of Standards to be the focal point to research and synthesize comments to complete the draft "National Standardization Strategy to 2030" before sending it to other organizations for comments to relevant organizations and individuals.

The project was carried out by Associate Professor, Dr. Bach Long Giang. Nguyen Tat Thanh University was an implementing agency; Science and Technology Advances Application Center, Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technology Incubator were coordinating units.
