Study on clinical and subclinical characteristics and evaluate the results of post-COVID-19 treatment in infected people with SARS-CoV-2 in Can Tho city
In the afternoon of August 29, 2022, Can Tho city Department of Science and Technology established a Council to directly assign organizations and individuals to implement the science and technology project "Research on clinical and subclinical characteristics and evaluate the results of post-COVID-19 treatment in infected people with SARS-CoV-2 in Can Tho city”. The Council is chaired by Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of Can Tho city Department of Science and Technology. The study is carried out by Dr. Vo Pham Minh Thu. Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy is an implementation agency.

Overview of the meeting 

The purpose of the study is to determine the rate and clinical and subclinical characteristics of infected people with SARS-CoV-2 after COVID-19 in Can Tho city; Understanding epidemiological and clinical factors related to post-COVID-19 characteristics in infected people with SARS-CoV-2 in Can Tho city; Survey of demand for post-COVID-19 health care services in Can Tho city; Evaluation of treatment results for infected people with COVID-19 according to the multi-specialty coordination model at hospitals in Can Tho city.

Council's members

The project will carry out the following contents: Surveying the frequency of patients with post-COVID-19 symptoms: the proportion of patients with post-COVID-19 symptoms in the total number of research subjects; Survey of clinical and subclinical characteristics in post-COVID-19 patients; Identify some relevant epidemiological factors; Identify some relevant clinical factors; Recognizing the current status of medical facilities implementing post-COVID-19 services; Determine the patient's medical care needs; Identifying characteristics of patients with post-COVID-19 symptoms treated at medical facilities and in collaboration with experts; Determining treatment outcomes for post-COVID-19 symptoms; Evaluation of the impact of psychological treatment, rehabilitation, intervention for cardiovascular and respiratory disorders in the disease management model.

Research team

The project has high practical significance, not only helping patients to improve their physical and mental condition, but also reducing the burden of disease for patients, their families and society, contributing to stabilizing production and life for the people.

The Council has unanimously approved the project, however, the research team needs to edit and add some contents according to the comments of the council members.
