Training Patent Protection at Duy Tan University
In the morning of December 15, 2022, the NOIP cooperated with Duy Tan University to organize a Patent Protection Training at universities and research institutes at 3 Quang Trung, Danang city.

The training session, there were Mr. Bui Duy Nghia - Deputy Director of Industrial Property Information Center, National Office of Intellectual Property; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Deputy Head of the Office, in charge of the Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Danang City; Dr. Vo Thanh Hai - Vice Rector of Duy Tan University and a large number of officials and lecturers from many universities and research institutes in the Central - Central Highlands region.

Speaking at the training session, Mr. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Deputy Head of the Office, in charge of the Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Da Nang City said: “The Patent Protection training session organized by the National Office of Intellectual Property in collaboration with Duy Tan University today to strengthen protection activities and exploit patent information more effectively at universities and research institutes in the Central - Central Highlands region. With many years of experience in the field of patent protection, at this training session, experts provided information on exploitation and protection of patent information to support researchers access to a huge source of available patent data for creative activities and scientific research. Besides, sharing the patent registration process will help lecturers have basic knowledge in conducting patent registration procedures.”

At the training session, Mr. Bui Duy Nghia - Deputy Director of the Center for Industrial Property Information (National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam) provided a lot of information about requirements for the invention description, the content of the patent description of the invention (including: name of the invention, the technical field in question, the technical status of the invention, the technical nature of the invention, detailed description of the invention, etc), requirements of patent application, regulations on examination of patent applications and accompanying illustrative examples,...

The training session attracted the attention of many managers and scientists from many universities and research institutes in the Central - Central Highlands region.

In addition, the correct procedure for filing a patent application with step by step meeting the patent protection standards was also presented at the training session. Accordingly, the contents of the right to file patent applications, objects not protected in the name of inventions, standards of protection of inventions, declarations of patent registration or how to handle patent applications at The National Office of Intellectual Property, etc. has been detailed.

The training session is a useful activity to encourage scientists to be more active in the registration of intellectual property while providing many useful solutions for universities and research institutes to improve intellectual property registration capacity for its scientists.
