Strengthening cooperation in science, technology and innovation between Vietnam and Laos

Within the framework of the official visit to Laos by President Vo Van Thuong on April 10 and 11, Vietnam Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and Lao Minister of Technology and Communications Boviengkham Vongdara signed a Cooperation Memorandum in the field of technology and innovation between the two ministries.

Accordingly, the two sides will encourage and support policy development cooperation; development - technology transfer; human resource development; technology assessment and appraisal and etc.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of science between the two ministries, towards cooperation in training and capacity building for the scientific research and management staffs; cooperate in building and implementing sponsorship and support programs of the Science and Technology Development Fund; cooperate to promote the development of application of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

Previously, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam coordinated with the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos to organize the Vietnam - Laos Tech-Innovation Technology, Startup and Innovation Connection Forum 2023 in two days April 4 and 5 in the capital Vientiane with intensive workshops; seminars; and 67 exhibition areas, introducing research results and technologies with commercial potential in many fields.

Join the event with the startup ecosystem and innovation in Vietnam including Smart Agriculture Village, Community Construction and Development Village, Beauty Care Technology Village, Marketing Technology Village, Innovation Technology Park Development Village; and Lao startups.

In more than 100 technologies, solutions, demonstration equipment, there are 4 signed technology transfer agreements.
