On April 14, Hanoi National University (VNU) held the Semiconductor Chip Technology Exhibition to introduce research projects and product models with high applicability.

The exhibition introduced a number of potential studies, such as "The microfluidic chip system for detecting lung cancer cells A549", developed by the research team of Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh; “High-precision electronic compass device for marine use” and “Earth magnetic field measurement and positioning device system based on magnetostrictive – piezoelectric effect, integrated GPS positioning technique for surveying Probe and build a map of the earth's magnetic field" by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Thi Huong Giang and colleagues.

VNU President Le Quan said that each year, the university has about 1,200 students graduating from majors directly related to circuit design and related fields. Many VNU students, trainees and doctoral students who graduated from these programs are currently working in the field of IC design in domestic and foreign research organizations and enterprises. Currently, VNU has 9 strong research groups and 6 laboratories invested in semiconductor field. “The development orientation of IC design technology at VNU focuses on deploying IoT chip-based system models incorporating artificial intelligence applied in smart cities and digital society, digital transformation, and agriculture,” he said. In addition, the research groups are also interested in designing security chips for applications in national defense and security.

With the desire to continue to promote this research direction, Mr. Le Quan proposed the Government to support VNU to establish the National Center for Circuit Design and Testing (IC Design House) located in the Urban Area of VNU in Hoa Lac and is a common resource for Vietnam's semiconductor industry.
