More than 500 pedestrians celebrate World Intellectual Property Day
In the morning of April 26, at Quang Trung Software Park (HCMC), more than 500 people walked together to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day.

The starting point runs from Vien Dong College, Lot 2, Street 16, Quang Trung Software Park, District 12, HCMC.

The walking companion program is part of the series of activities of "Intellectual Property Week" in Ho Chi Minh City organized by the Copyright Office (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), and the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology), Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Intellectual Property Association and Vien Dong College.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Vien - Chairman of the Intellectual Property Association of Ho Chi Minh City, we are living in a period where the intellectual content in our lives is increasing. Today, many people seek to encourage people to be creative and make the most of their brains. Inventors also have a brain, they know how to use that brain actively to create creations.

Therefore, students must know how to use their brains not only to understand, to remember but also to be creative. Remembering and understanding are just raw materials, the ultimate goal must be creativity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Le Hong - Deputy Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property - said that the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) had chosen the message of World Intellectual Property Day 2023 as "Women with Intellectual Property - Promoting Innovation". Innovation plays an important role in the economic development of the country, not only for each business, but innovation is one of the important factors to help us have the competitiveness of the whole country.

According to Mr. Tran Le Hong, the results obtained in innovation activities show that the role of women is very important. It can be said that women have contributed an irreplaceable part in innovation activities and socio-economic development.

Recent statistics show that among the scientists involved in innovation activities in Vietnam, up to 46% are women, this is a great contribution. However in another aspect, that contribution has not been fully expressed and recognized.

It can be seen that WIPO chose the topic of women not only to honor, but also to spread a message so that we can create gender equality in the process of developing innovation in the future economic activity in general.

Mr. Tran Le Hong also hopes that in the launching ceremony of this movement, every step we take today will be a small strength contributing to spreading the message of women's contribution to innovation activities. At the same time, further promote innovation activities, including the contribution of women.

Student Dang Le Hong An - University of Labor and Social Affairs - shared that walking together to respond to World Intellectual Property Day April 26 is a meaningful activity.
