Industrialization and modernization on the basis of Science, Technology and Innovation in Can Tho city
In the morning of May 12, 2023, the National Economics University in collaboration with the University of Ho Chi Minh City Economics and Can Tho city Department of Science and Technology held a scientific seminar with the topic "Industrialization and modernization on the basis of new science and technology and innovation in Can Tho city”, at the hall of Can Tho city Department of Science and Technology.

Attending the seminar, there were Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the City People's Committee. Can Tho, Dr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of Can Tho city Department of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, Chairman of the Council of National Economics University (UEH), Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa, Former Vice President of National Economics University, and representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, institutes, schools in Can Tho city.

The seminar revolved around the main contents of the current situation and direction of socio-economic development of Can Tho city to 2030 and vision to 2045; Direction of industrial development in the process of industrialization and modernization of the foundation of new science, technology and innovation of Can Tho city; The current situation and directions for the development of new and innovative science and technology to achieve the country's development goals by 2030 and a vision to 2045. Besides, the seminar also discussed potential factors and development difficulties of Can Tho, policies and development drivers of Can Tho.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the City People's Committee. Can Tho said that Can Tho actively coordinated to deploy many key projects in the city; strengthen linkages and cooperation among localities and institutes and universities, actively promote and work with corporations and non-state enterprises to call for investment in strategic projects of the city, creating motivation to attract businesses to participate in the implementation in the area. Increase investment, research and application of scientific and technological achievements into production and business, improve the competitiveness of products; promote activities to support the development of innovation, digital transformation and application of innovation startup ecosystem and digiotal technology for the city.

The seminar is an opportunity for leaders, managers and scientists to listen to reports on practical experiences in science and technology development and innovation for the country's industrialization and modernization in Can Tho  city in the past time and propose solutions to promote the advantages of the Can Tho city in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country on the basis of new science and technology and innovation.
