Promoting cooperation in the field of standardization between Vietnam and China
The Vietnamese side (Ministry of Science and Technology, Directorate of Standards, Metrology, and Quality) and China (SAMR) agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of standardization between the two sides.

On June 5, 2023, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh had a meeting and worked with the delegation of the General Administration of Market Management of China (SAMR). On the side of the Vietnamese delegation, there were also Dr. Ha Minh Hiep, Deputy Director in charge of the Directorate of Quality Standards and Quality, and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Science and Technology), International Cooperation Department (Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality), Department of Quality Assurance Standards, Metrology and Quality), National Center for Barcodes (Standards, Metrology and Quality).

On the side of the Chinese delegation, there were Mr. Bo Thuan, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Market Supervision and Management of China (SAMR) and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Food Production, Department of Specialty Food, Department of Technology standards, Economic and commercial counselor.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged a lot of important information about the orientation of socio-economic development, experiences in state management on quality measurement standards, experiences in formulating a standardization strategy and many other issues related to the field of cooperation that the two sides have been maintaining.

In this meeting, the Vietnamese side (Ministry of Science and Technology, Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality) and China (SAMR) agreed to continue to maintain and expand the cooperation relationship between functional units of Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality and SAMR. The two sides agreed to review all signed documents and memorandums of understanding to standardize and enhance the effectiveness of the agreements. At the same time, it is agreed that there will be a plan to organize professional seminars between the two sides.

The Chinese side also agreed with the proposal from Vietnam (Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality) on supporting training activities and improving the qualifications of human resources.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation efforts between Vietnam and China in general and in the field of standards, metrology and quality in particular. At the same time, it is expected that the cooperation relationship between the two sides in the field of standards, metrology and quality, science and technology will become more and more extensive.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bo Thuan, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Market Supervision and Management of China (SAMR) on behalf of the Chinese delegation thanked the warm and sincere welcome from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality. He also said that after today's meeting, the Chinese side will review cooperation activities between the two sides and plan to organize activities proposed by the two sides.
