Goods traceability portal will be operational this year

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said that the Traceability project was issued in 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other ministries and sectors implemented and developed 20 Vietnamese criteria for traceability as well as put into operation the Traceability Portal. The ministries of Agriculture, Industry and Trade, and Health have participated in information dissemination and traceability activities in the industry and built a information management system for traceability of goods in their respective fields.
However, the implementation of Decision No. 100 related to this project still has some unsatisfactory contents, such as bringing the Traceability Gateway into full operation because of some procedures. In the next few months, the Department strives to operate the Gateway, while at the same time developing information on traceability management; together with the Ministry of Finance to issue a circular on the financial mechanism to manage this project. According to Finance Minister Ho Duc Phuc, out of the total budget expenditure of 0.82% for science and technology this year, investment expenditure is 0.23%, and regular spending is 0.58%. Meanwhile, last year's budget expenditure ratio was 1.1%.
