Vietnam - Korea forum on artificial intelligence cooperation and digital transformation in healthcare in 2023
This is an opportunity for scientists, doctors, people working in the medical industry and organizations and businesses of Vietnam and Korea to exchange, share experiences and connect to form many projects and products apply artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare.

Overview of the forum

The forum was officially opened in the morning of June 9, 2023 in Hanoi under the chairmanship of the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, the Korea Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communication (Science and Technology- Information and Communication); The organizers are the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the Korea National Information Technology (IT) Industry Promotion Agency.

At the Forum, Vietnam and Korea speakers who are managers, scientists and doctors gave many presentations focusing on medical issues and the impact of AI in health such as digital health direction of Hanoi Medical University Hospital and cooperation in AI research in health care for patients with diabetes and cancer; Digital health orientation of the Vietnam National Cancer Institute and cooperation in AI research in healthcare for cancer and thyroid cancer patient care online; Healthcare innovation through AI: Effective and accurate cancer screening; AI solutions for musculoskeletal imaging and growth testing in children; The R2MIX Digital Human Services Platform and etc.

At the meeting, the two sides shared some information about the AI development strategy and orientation of Vietnam and Korea. Accordingly, the two sides found that the views of the two Governments when approaching the AI Development Strategy have many similarities. It is a matter of raising awareness and popularizing AI among the population; ethical issues, principles and responsibility for building AI databases; Realizing Human-Centered AI...

Deputy Minister Bui The Duy highly appreciated the achievements of science and technology that Korea has achieved, as well as highly appreciated Korea's support to Vietnam in the field of science and technology. Vietnam always appreciates and attaches importance to the cooperation relationship with South Korea. In that spirit, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy proposed to develop a separate cooperation document on AI between the two countries.
