Launching Challenge Program to solve water problems in Mekong Delta
On June 6, 2023 in Can Tho, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with Fulbright University Vietnam held the Launching Ceremony of the Challenge Program to solve water problems in the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta) - Mekong Water Challenge in live and online form.
Mekong Water Challenge is an innovative program to identify, find solutions and solve water problems in the Mekong Delta. The program is built through a partnership among universities, research institutes and community groups. Thereby, experimenting to solve water problems in the Mekong Delta within 3 months by approaching with 03 principles: applying multidisciplinary knowledge, focusing on people and innovation.
Participants in the program include: pupils, students, researchers (age 18-40). Each team has 03-05 members and at least 01 member comes from a province/city of the Mekong Delta where there is a water problem that the group aims to solve; or have experiences in implementing similar projects in that locality.
The total program prize is up to 10,000 USD for 03 teams with breakthrough technology or business solutions to enhance the living environment and promote the sustainability of the Mekong Delta. Time to apply for the program is from now until the end of June 25, 2023, the final round is expected to take place on October 6, 2023.
