Ho Chi Minh City: Finding solutions to motivate inventions and develop science and technology enterprises
In the series of activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology (S&T) Day 2023, on 16/05/2023 Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology held a scientific conference with the theme "Solutions to motivate inventions and develop S&T enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City”.

At the workshop, Mrs. Huynh Luu Thanh Giang (Acting Head of Technology and Technology Market Management Division - Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) said that many enterprises in the field of science and technology in the city and the whole country have achieve high sales and quality products, meeting the demand not only in the domestic but also in the international market. Enterprises have really participated in the global production value chain. It is remarkable that they have dared to invest in scientific research and technology development, thanks to the support and policy incentives from the state. This has contributed to raising the rate of social investment in the S&T sector.

According to statistics from the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently 114 S&T enterprises in the city that have been granted certificates. In addition, there are more than 700 other businesses that are eligible for certification. This shows that the potential for developing the network of S&T enterprises is still very large. Currently, the City also has 43 incubators and organizations that support innovative startups, 10 co-working spaces and more than 100 universities and colleges engaged in innovation. In addition, the city also has about 2,000 innovative start-ups - this is considered an important source of development for S&T enterprises, which should be encouraged to develop in the future to create more and more S&T businesses and create quality resources from society to invest in science, technology and innovation.

At the workshop, the speakers exchanged and shared about solutions to motivate inventions and develop S&T enterprises; Chat GPT application in the digital transformation process of enterprises; cooperate in research, commercialize results and form S&T enterprises for small and medium enterprises; solutions to motivate inventions and develop S&T enterprises from the perspective of valuation. The workshop is an important event with the aim of supporting businesses to increase information, knowledge and develop investment, research cooperation, invention, technology innovation for efficient production and business, at the same time, strengthen solutions to promote commercialization of inventions, commercialization of research results, and formation of S&T enterprises.
