Da Nang: Promoting the development of an innovative startup ecosystem
On June 9, 2023, in Da Nang, an international conference "Developing an innovative start-up ecosystem in Da Nang and people diplomacy in connection and mobilization of resources" took place.
Over the years, Da Nang's innovative start-up ecosystem has formed and developed with many diverse elements connected and supporting each other. Da Nang City has promulgated many mechanisms, policies, programs and plans, creating a legal basis to promote innovative start-up activities and has achieved positive results, going into depth, approved by ministries, industry recognized. With the goal of learning from international experiences in building and operating the innovative start-up ecosystem and how to access foreign resources; connecting and strengthening the friendship and development cooperation between Vietnam and the world, the People's Committee of Da Nang city together with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) and a number of other units organized an international conference "Development of the innovative start-up ecosystem in Da Nang and people's diplomacy in connection and mobilization of resources".
In the opening speech, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh said that the innovative start-up community is constantly increasing in quantity and quality, in which there are a number of innovation enterprises with high technology background, catching up with development trends, especially in the fields of information technology, application of artificial intelligence and etc. has attracted investment capital from domestic and international investment funds. With the results achieved, Da Nang city has twice received the award "City attractive to start-ups and innovations" honored by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association in 2020 and 2022.
At the workshop, the delegates provided multi-dimensional perspectives, an overview of the innovative startup ecosystem in Da Nang City, and shared practical lessons on model building, development experiences, and how to operate innovative startup ecosystems of the countries; ways to attract, mobilize and connect factors and resources to develop this ecosystem.
