Opening of the training course "Thinking and skills foundation on startup and innovation for mentors"
On June 22, 2023, the Science and Technology Information Center under Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology opened the training course "Thinking and skills foundation on startup and innovation for the mentors.”

Behind the success of a start-up business, there is always a mentor and a leader. Those are people with high professional competence, foresight and seasoned experience. Mentor is both a guide and help arouse the endless power of startups, helping startups to succeed.

With the goal of creating a bridge for experts and successful entrepreneurs to share and advise startups, thereby strengthening connections and optimizing resources to support innovative startups; connecting and developing a network of mentors for startups and innovation in Can Tho city; equip students with basic mentoring skills for later teaching and mentoring projects/start-up businesses, instructing how to sketch portraits of mentors and mentors, and shape mentoring styles, buid mentoring roadmaps, and analyze typical mentoring cases.

The course was held on June 22, 2023 (morning: 08:00 - 11:00, afternoon: 14:00 - 17:00) at CASTI HUB Hall (No. 118/3 Tran Phu, Cai Khe Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City)  with the teaching participation of expert Ly Dinh Quan - General Director of Song Han Startup Incubation Center, Vice Chairman of the National Innovation Advisory Council.

Mr. Ly Dinh Quan is an expert, consultant for many startup programs, the jury of the contest in many localities, is the chairman and member of 12 national and local startup projects, directly implementing more than 14 startup incubation and accelerator programs. Currently, Mr. Quan is the General Director of Song Han Startup Incubation Center - SONGHAN Incubator, deputy head of the National Innovation Advisory Council. For nearly 6 years, he has been involved in the activities of Techfest Vietnam and the Vietnamese startup ecosystem community.

Speaking at the opening of the course, Mr. Vu Minh Hai - Director of Can Tho Science and Technology Information Center shared that a mentor is one of the important factors that help form and develop the innovation startup ecosystem. However, Can Tho city in general and the Mekong Delta in particular are still lacking this element. Through the course, Mr. Vu Minh Hai wants to help students explore different aspects to create an innovative startup mentoring community for Can Tho and the region.
