Smart factory development in Vietnam
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung Vietnam have jointly organized the Kick-off Ceremony of the first phase of the Smart Factory Cooperation Project in 2023. This activity is part of the Smart Factory Cooperation Project developed by Samsung Vietnam to improve the professional ability of the team of domestic consultants, improve the production operation capacity on the information technology platform of the enterprise.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that implementing the goal of continuing to promote industrialization and modernization of the country in Resolution No. 29/NQ-TW dated November 17, 2022 of the Party Central Committee. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has actively implemented cooperation programs with multinational corporations and foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) in Vietnam to improve the quality of human resources, improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the field of manufacturing, processing and supporting industries.

In particular, cooperation programs with Samsung Vietnam have been implemented in the past time such as training consultants, consulting on production improvement for enterprises, human resource training for the mold industry, training and supporting the development of smart factories… has been bringing positive signals to Vietnam's industry in general and supporting industries in particular, creating widespread pervasiveness, helping domestic enterprises increase their development opportunities and deep participation in the global supply chain.

In the context of a highly competitive market today, with a self-screening and selection mechanism, Vietnamese manufacturing enterprises are facing many challenges, having to compete with large corporations not only in the domestic market but also in the international market. Therefore, developing smart factories is an inevitable trend for Vietnamese manufacturing enterprises today.

The project to support the development of smart factories in localities is an activity within the framework of the smart factory development cooperation project, which Samsung Vietnam collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, signed a memorandum of understanding since 02/2022 with the goal of supporting the development of smart factories in 50 enterprises and training 100 Vietnamese experts in the field of smart factory consulting in 02 years (2022-2023).

By the end of 2022, Samsung Vietnam has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support training 51 experts in the field of smart factories in Vietnam and consulting smart factory development for 26 businesses across the country (14 enterprises in the North, 12 enterprises in the South). In 2023, the project will continue to be deployed for 24 businesses in the North and the South.
