The Ministry of Science and Technology accompanies investors in the microchip ecosystem

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said the above at the Opening Ceremony of Besi Manufacturing Factory limitted Company Vietnam (Netherlands) taking place on February 28, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat committed to accompanying investors in the microchip ecosystem.

Attending the opening ceremony, there were also representatives of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, experts and businesses in the field of semiconductor chips.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat highly appreciated Besi Company's long-term investment goals and plans in Vietnam. The Minister said that this is the leading Dutch enterprise in the production of machinery, testing equipment and microchip packaging, and is committed to accompanying investors in the microchip ecosystem, in including Besi as well as Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park when implementing the project. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to participate in the global supply chain, improving research and production capacity from domestic human resources.

The Minister requested the Netherlands to support the training of engineers and senior experts in the field of electronics and semiconductor industries for Vietnam through study programs in your country; We believe that the company will develop in Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park in particular and Vietnam in general, helping to train high-tech human resources, promoting research and development activities, and contributing to the development of the domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

Mr. Henk Jan Jonge Poerink, Besi Global Deputy General Director, said that in the investment plan, the project will employ thousands of Vietnamese workers and become a partner and supplier of chip packaging machinery to the market to help enhance the development of the domestic semiconductor industry. He pledged to accompany businesses to promote the development of the semiconductor ecosystem and transfer foreign technologies to Vietnam.
