Research on the current situation and solutions to effectively implement the agriculture-farmer-rural transformation policy in Can Tho city
In order to select organizations and individuals to inplement the social science projecct "Research on the current situation and solutions to effectively implement the agricultural - farmer – rural transformation policy in Can Tho city', Cantho City Department of Science and Technology had a council meeting in the afternoon of March 8, 2024. The Council was presided by Dr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of Cantho City Department of Science and Technology. The study is carried by Dr. Bui Hai Duong.

 

Overview of the meeting

The project aims to evaluate the current situation, recognize strengths and propose solutions to effectively deploy State policies to transform the agricultural economy, farmers' lives and the economics - social – rural environment of Can Tho city.

Council's members

The content of the research project includes: Overall assessment of the current socio-economic status related to agriculture, farmers, and rural areas of Can Tho city; Assess the current situation, identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to develop Cantho city's agricultural sector; Assess the current situation, identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve human resources, employment and value chain links in the Cantho city's agricultural and rural sector; Assess the current situation, identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for rural development in Can Tho city; Propose solutions to implement and improve state mechanisms and policies to transform the agricultural - farmer - rural economy by 2030 according to the city's strategic orientation.

In the afternoon of June 5, 2025, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the City-level Council for the acceptance evaluation of the social science project "Current status and solutions for developing a smart tourism system to attract tourists to Can Tho City". In the afternoon of May 27, 2025, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the Advisory Council to evaluate and accept the results of the implementation of the scientific and technological project "Research on diversifying processed products from jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam)." The project was carried out by Associate Professor, Dr. Bach Long Giang. Nguyen Tat Thanh University was an implementing agency; Science and Technology Advances Application Center, Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technology Incubator were coordinating units.
