Cooperation in research and development of biotechnology industry in Ho Chi Minh City

In the afternoon of March 7, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park coordinated with pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers with strengths in high-tech applications in the fields of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to organize a workshop: "Cooperation in research, development and application of biotechnology in Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park".

The workshop aims to promote cooperation in development and application of biotechnology for socio-economic development following the green growth trend.

Bui Dinh Thach, representative of the Institute of Tropical Biology - VAST, said that biotechnology is a high-tech field based on the science of life, combined with processes and technical equipment to create new technologies in order to exploit and produce high quality biological products, serve socio-economic development and environmental protection. This is a key task and a development opportunity for the biopharmaceutical technology industry to make important breakthroughs in its research strategy to create quality products and develop human resources.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board, said that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board building and implementing the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Expansion Project with the goal of 2030 will become a world-class high-tech park, operating according to the model of a science-technology park. In which, prioritizing investment in developing high technologies in the field of biotechnology is also one of the very important tasks.
