Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology announced many innovation and startup activities in 2024
This year, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology will put the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Center into operation, operate an online platform to promote innovation in Ho Chi Minh City (H.OIP), and organize the Innovation Award and startups in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 (I-Star 2024) and the Contest "Finding innovative solutions in the public sector in 2024 (Gov.Star 2024)."

On April 3, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology organized a conference to deploy innovation and startup activities in 2024.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung (Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) informed about the support content for innovation and start-up activities that will be deployed in the coming period.  Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung suggested that Ho Chi Minh City currently has a policy and needs the community's input to find breakthrough solutions for innovation and start-up activities. Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung also expects the community to join hands to organize events, such as the Week of Innovation and Startup - WHISE, to open a larger connection network, associated with the benefits of the community.

At the Conference, Mrs. Phan Thi Quy Truc (Deputy Head of the Division of Intellectual Property Management and Innovation - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology) reported summarizing innovative start-up support activities in 2023 and innovation and start-up activities will be implemented in 2024. Accordingly, in the past year,  Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology has supported improving innovation capacity for above 2,500 businesses; Support incubation and development of 308 projects; Support 40 innovative start-up businesses to access venture capital... It is estimated that the average investment expenditure for science and technology of society in the period of 2021 - 2023 will reach 0.88%/GRDP.

Within the framework of the Conference, Mrs. Dang Thi Luan (Deputy Director of the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology) announced Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Startup Award in 2024 (I-Star 2024) and launched the Contest "Finding innovative solutions in the public sector in 2024 (Gov.Star 2024)".
