Promoting information cooperation and scientific publication among Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine and research institutes and universities in the Mekong Delta region
In order to promote cooperation and information sharing in the field of science and technology, Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine belongs to the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology and Can Tho University to jointly organize a workshop "Promoting information and scientific publication among Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine and research institutes and universities in the Mekong Delta region" in the afternoon of April 5, 2024, at the Learning Resource Center, Can Tho University.

Attending the workshop, there were Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine, Dr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, Professor. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Vice Rector of Can Tho University, Professor. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan - Former Principal of Can Tho University, representative of leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology, scientists, managers from institutes and universities in the Mekong Delta region.

The workshop took place with the following contents: Scientific and technological information and publication of scientific research and innovation results in the Mekong Delta region; Proposing opportunities for cooperation among parties and contributing opinions in the development of Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine, the theoretical and mouthpiece of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology informed that Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine is a specialized magazine of the Ministry of Science and Technology deployed in Ho Chi Minh City about KCS programs to support scientists, applied research will be published in journals and connected with the National Council of Science and Technology for scientists to contribute intellectually, research effort. Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology has the role of connecting with the Magazine and fully supports the articles in the magazine. Every year, the Departments contribute scientific articles to the Journal. Besides, he hopes that Can Tho University and scientists will support the Journal in implementing more programs of the Ministry in the Mekong Delta. Scientists are interested in supporting and assisting the magazine in implementing scientific and technological tasks in the city.

Previously, in the afternoon of April 4, 2024, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology had a meeting and worked with Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine on strengthening cooperation and science and technology information.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Vice Principal of Can Tho University emphasized that science and technology are very important pillars and driving forces for development. In particular, in conclusion No. 69 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No.20 of the Central Executive Committee on developing science and technology to serve industrialization and modernization in the context of integration. As well as ministries and branches, they have implemented policies, orientations and plans to develop science and technology and promote cooperation in information and communication of scientific and technological research results to spread research results and better applications in production and practice. Every year, the School has about 500-600 scientific projects at all levels domestically and about 30-40 international projects. From these activities, there are products related to human resource training from university, master, and doctoral levels. There are about 20 applied technological processes, about 2,000 articles, including about 800 published international articles, and etc.

The workshop opened up new opportunities for cooperation in the Mekong Delta region and proposed implementation in the future among science and technology journals in sharing scientific publications and sharing experiences in journal activities. Scientific journals among institutes and schools aim to promote cooperation in scientific and technological information, improve the quality and efficiency of scientific publications.  Thence, contributing to the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region in general and Vietnam Science and Technology Magazine in particular.
