Connect and exploit the knowledge of the community of atomic energy scientists
On April 13, 2024, at Hanoi Nuclear Training Center, the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Association took place.
Overview of the Congress
Attending the Congress, there were Comrade Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Science and Technology; Comrade Tran Hong Thai, Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Comrade Phan Xuan Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; Comrade Vuong Huu Tan, Chairman of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Association, term II, period of 2014-2024; Mr. Fokin Stanislav, Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam; and comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and all members of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Association.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat acknowledged and appreciated the continuous efforts for the development of Vietnam's automic energy industry.
According to the report presented at the Congress, in the period of 2014-2024, the Association has about 850 members, the vast majority of members are people working in management, research and implementation, experts, trainers, and lecturers, nursing treatment, providing services, consulting, and etc. at member associations and collective members that are management units, research facilities, universities, training schools, hospitals, and medical facilities, businesses located in different regions of the country.
Vietnam Atomic Energy Association of has continuously strived to realize its goals and principles, accompanying the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in connecting and exploiting the knowledge of the community of scientists and experts participating in the field. The Association's activities have focused on organizing professional events, creating opportunities to meet and cooperate between domestic and foreign researchers, between research organizations and universities.
In particular, the Association has played an important role in consulting and criticizing major national policies and projects, such as nuclear science and technology Center Project, Project summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ /TW of the Politburo on the orientation of Vietnam's National Energy Development Strategy to 2020 and vision to 2030 and other major investment projects in the field of national renewable energy; Participate in many international exhibitions and forums as well as promote the application of atomic Energy for peaceful purposes in production and daily life.
The Association has strengthened cooperation with domestic and foreign automatic energy resources research, training and application organizations. The Association's leaders and members have participated in many specialized conferences on automatic energy, including the National Oncology Conference and events, such as the Nuclear Medicine Conference, the Nuclear Science and Technology Conference, along with other international conferences, such as the Workshop on Nuclear Security. These activities not only provide information and knowledge but also help spread awareness about atomic energy applications to the domestic community.
