Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics held a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Institute of Innovation
To support the development of innovative ideas among the community of students, lecturers, researchers and young domestic and international startup communities; After 5 years of operation and contributing to building the national innovation startup ecosystem, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) has achieved many brilliant achievements and continues to replicate its practical values, UEH organized the 5th Anniversary of the Innovation Institute's operation to affirm UEH's commitment to accompanying local businesses in building innovation capacity in the morning of April 17, 2024, at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2018, within the framework of the ASEAN Summit in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Singapore Management University signed a cooperation document to promote innovation and startup activities in Vietnam. This is an important first step for the development of the UEH Innovation Institute.

The opening day of the UEH Innovation Institute, exactly 5 years ago, opened a new and promising chapter for UEH - a journey of constant effort and innovation from the leaders, lecturers, and young startup community and especially students. Together we have developed programs that bring practical value to the community and society (from 2019-2024).

Speaking at the Celebration, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council shared that UEH is proud to be at the forefront of the innovation journey. It is a process of constantly striving to reach out, explore and develop sustainably through technoloies and innovation. We not only focus on capturing new technology trends but also strive to create sustainable value for the community and society, thereby promoting local economic development.

Speaking at the Celebration, Dr. Christopher Han - Director of UEH Innovation Strategy emphasized that the Institute of Innovation, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, plays a role as a key element of an ecosystem consisting of five elements: universities, industry, public and private sectors, investors, startups. This is where training activities, scientific research, forming a startup ecosystem and connecting investor networks, supporting organizations and businesses are carried out; Consulting and cooperation in science and technology services contribute to promoting innovation and transferring research into practice.
