Up to now, the Union of Associations has become a strong socio-political organization ranked among the 30 mass associations assigned tasks by the Party and State at the Central level, with 156 member associations, including 93 associations of nationwide branches and 63 associations of provinces and centrally run cities; established 560 science and technology organizations; establish a newspaper and magazine agency, a publishing house, and a technical innovation support fund; has gathered and attracted about 3.7 million members, including over 2.2 million intellectuals, accounting for about 32.5% of intellectuals in the country.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the Union's intellectual team over the past 40 years. He emphasized that in the coming time, facing traditional and non-traditional security issues of the world, region and country; The development of new technology, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and etc. Union leaders and scientists need to thoroughly grasp and implement well the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the directions of the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, Secretariat term XIII on building and promoting the role of intellectuals; on industrialization, modernization, on the development of science, technology and innovation, on building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
