Promote international integration in science and technology
Through 10 years of implementation, the Law on Science and Technology (S&T) 2013 contributes to strengthening and promoting international integration in S&T.

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat was in a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Vietnam Keijo Novanto.

Vietnam's Law on Science and Technology (S&T) was passed in 2013 and has undergone amendments to promote domestic S&T development and international integration. This law plays an important role in creating a basic and important legal corridor, while promoting international integration in science and technology. Specific measures have been implemented to achieve this goal, including promulgating relevant legal documents and perfecting the legal system on intellectual property and international commitments that Vietnam has participated.

Vietnam has more than 150 agreements on science and technology cooperation with more than 70 countries and international organizations. Collaborative activities have strengthened research capacity and trained scientific human resources for Vietnam. Collaborative projects have helped improve techniques and research methods for practical issues in Vietnam. At the same time, cooperation activities also create conditions for domestic scientists to access advanced research methods and bring about many high-quality research results.

The VKIST project in Vietnam aims to develop a new applied research model following the Korean KIST model. Research cooperation has helped solve domestic science and technology problems faster and more effectively. International cooperation in science and technology is enhanced, especially with the active participation of young Vietnamese scientists. S&T staffs participate in many important international and regional programs and projects. Training and fostering to improve foreign language skills are also emphasized to meet international integration requirements.

Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology has promoted international cooperation activities in the field of science and technology. Training and research programs have attracted financial resources from foreign partners and increased the participation of international experts. Connection with technology experts and technology transfer are also enhanced. At the same time, the Ministry also implemented a program to promote technology transfer from abroad to Vietnam. The network of Vietnamese S&T representatives abroad has also been strengthened to introduce experiences and support technology search and transfer activities.
