Building Thua Thien Hue to become a major science and technology center of the country

In the afternoon of May 16, 2024, Thua Thien Hue Province Department of Science and Technology organized a discussion to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18 and the Workshop "Science, Technology and Innovation - The driving force to promote socio-economic development workshop in Thua Thien Hue."
Attending the event, from the Ministry of Science and Technology, there was Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. On the side of Thua Thien Hue province, there was Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ho Tha Attending the event, from the Ministry of Science and Technology, was Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. On the side of Thua Thien Hue province, there was Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ho Thang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, representing leaders of departments, branches, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and Hue city; leaders of institutes, schools, research centers, science and technology organizations and businesses in the area, along with all officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Department of Science.
The event was organized to propagate and disseminate outstanding scientific, technological and innovation achievements; raise society's awareness of the role of science and technology; arouse the spirit of passion for creative labor and scientific research among people of all walks of life, especially the young generation to contribute to building and developing the province's scientific staff in the future; discuss and propose tasks and solutions to develop science, technology and innovation to create new growth drivers for society, while enhancing the position of the science and technology industry in research and application activities, contributing to socio-economic situation development of Thua Thien Hue province.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Ho Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Thua Thien Hue province, said that in recent times, science and technology activities have made practical contributions to socio-economic development and improving the quality of people’life. The achievements of Hue's medical science and pharmacy have affirmed its position as a specialized medical center in the country; Natural sciences and technical sciences have made positive contributions to improving the level of research and application in the area, promoting productivity, quality of goods and services, and improving competitiveness of businesses and the economy, contributing to creating new power for the province and region.
