Promote scientific research work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On May 30, 2024, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai presided a working session between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the status of implementing science, technology and innovation plans (Science, Technology and Innovation) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recent years and orienting research work in the coming time.

Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet said that in 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has implemented 03 key ministerial-level research programs, 27 independent projects, and organized dozens of workshops, talkshow. In the period of 2021-2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presides over 01 project and participates in 05 national-level projects coded KX.04 by the Central Theoretical Council and KX.02 by Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is in charge. The projects have attracted nearly 500 research staffs and 19/28 host units.

Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet thanked the Ministry of Science and Technology for the attention and close coordination in science, technology and innovation activities in recent times. Thanks to that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' science and technology activities have been comprehensively improved, increasing quantity and improving quality. Many research products of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have contributed positively and provided scientific basis for planning the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies, contributing to policy implementation and social -ecomomic development orientation, and etc.

Speaking at the meeting, representatives of units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their wish that, in addition to the KX.04 and KX.06 programs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to participate in presiding over tasks under other research programs serving the political and foreign affairs activities of the Party and State.

At the meeting, representatives of leaders of relevant functional units under the Ministry of Science and Technology shared experiences from practical research implementation in agencies to find solutions to overcome difficulties and improve quality of scientific research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the coming time.
