Ho Chi Minh City continues to promote innovation and digital transformation applications in the public sector
On May 31, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized a conference "Introducing digital transformation tools to serve management and administration in Thu Duc City, districts, wards, communes, town".

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung (Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology), digital transformation is a long-term, regular process, starting from data and based on data. Ho Chi Minh City determines that promoting innovation and digital transformation is one of the key tasks, the main driving force to improve and enhance the quality of providing services to people, especially innovation and digital transformation in the public sector. With the initial success of the digital transformation model of Ward 9, District 11 (Data and operating system of Ward 9, District 11), the Department of Science and Technology continues to connect and introduce a number of tools and solutions to Support Thu Duc City, districts, wards, communes, and towns to deploy and apply to serve management, operations and improve work efficiency.

At the conference, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Geographic Information System Application Center introduced two softwares developed by this unit: the digital conversion system serving ward and commune level management and administration, and centralized management system of economic units.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung shared that the Department wants to complete the software into a unified system so that all wards can register to use it. Currently, the Department is implementing a plan to build a model to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of public service activities in Ho Chi Minh City. The development and deployment of this software is one of the initial activities. Through the conference, the Department also listened to opinions from wards, communes, and districts to continue researching the most optimal model to meet practical application needs. Mr. Dung further noted that if we want to innovate and apply digital transformation in management and administration at wards, communes, districts, the first thing we need to determine is our desire and orientation, in order to proactively seek coordination and cooperation in applying science and technology to solve practical problems locally, contributing to improving the quality of public services in Ho Chi Minh City.
