Hanoi's local innovation index: Strengths - limitations and recommendations
With a score of 62.86, Hanoi is the leading locality in the country in the local innovation index (PII) in 2023. This is also the first time Hanoi has reached the top 200 innovation cities globally. To raise awareness for officials, civil servants, public employees, the business community and people in the capital area about the role, meaning and importance of innovation in socio-economic development. Recently, Hanoi Department of Science and Technology (S&T) organized a conference to introduce the PII set and recommendations for Hanoi.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Quoc Ha said that the Conference contributes to implementing Program No. 07-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee term XVII on "Promoting scientific development , technology and innovation (science, technology and innovation) in Hanoi for the period of 2021-2025", Plan No. 345/KH-UBND dated December 29, 2022 of the City People's Committee implementing the Science, Technology and Innovation Development Strategy until 2020 in Hanoi city; Plan No. 60/KH-UBND dated February 15, 2024 of the City People's Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation in Hanoi in 2024.
Deputy Director Nguyen Quoc Ha hopes that, through this Conference, we will receive comments and contributions to clarify the contents of the PII index set in 2024 and propose appropriate and timely solutions and improvement measures in the near future.
