Approaching circular economy to treat wastewater sludge and green wastes
In the morning of June 7, 2024, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City (Union) coordinated with the City Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment to organize an international conference on "Access to circular economy for wastewater sludge and green waste treatment" to create a forum for managers, experts, social organizations and stakeholders to share models, lessons and experiences in, abroad and propose solutions to treat sludge and green waste generated in Da Nang city.

The conference was presided by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City and Mr. Tran Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment.
Speaking at the opening ceremony at the Conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City, Nguyen Dinh Phuc, said that wastewater sludge collected in Da Nang city is putting pressure on processed work because the capacity of the landfill compartments is almost full. The volume of collected sludge is treated by landfilling, without taking advantage of the resources from the waste to make fertilizer, gas, or fuel to replace honeycomb coal, or to make use of fuel and materials for cement production. Therefore, it is necessary to find solutions to reuse generated sludge with high organic content, avoiding wasting resources from sludge.
