Selection of science and technology project: "Raising awareness, detecting and building an integrated intervention team at primary schools for children with developmental disorders in Can Tho city"
In the afternoon of May 9, 2025, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the Selection Council for organizations and individuals to preside over the scientific and technological prroject: "Raising awareness, detecting and building an integrated intervention team at primary schools for children with developmental disorders in Can Tho City." The project will be carried out by PhD.MSc.Dr. Tran Thien Thang, and implemented by Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Overview of the meeting
Attending the meeting, there were Ms. Tran Hoai Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, and members of the Professional Council, who are experts and scientists in the fields of education, school health and related units.
Council’s members
In the presentation, the research team clearly introduced the objectives, contents, approach and expected results of the research. The project aims at the following key objectives: training teachers and medical staff in primary schools on skills to assess and detect children with developmental disorders; surveying the rate of children with developmental disorders in primary schools in Can Tho city; researching factors related to children with developmental disorders; at the same time, promoting training for teachers and medical staff on skills to detect and intervene in the integration of children with developmental disorders in schools.
Based on the presentation of the research team, the members of the Council all recognized the importance of close coordination among the health, education and research sectors, in order to build a comprehensive and humane learning environment suitable to the needs of children with developmental disorders in the locality. However, the Council also requested the research team to accept the comments, review and adjust the research content to ensure feasibility, suitability and achieve the highest efficiency with the set goals.
